Jared Weiss, MD, is a board-certified medical oncologist, specializing in lung cancer and cancers of the head and neck. He is a tenured professor of medicine at the University of North Carolina Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, and section chief of Thoracic and Head/Neck Oncology. He is also an executive board member and volunteer with Cancergrace.org, and an advocate with the Lung Cancer Initiative of North Carolina.
ES-SCLC is an aggressive form of lung cancer. Recent treatment advances have extended survival, but patients continue to suffer harm to quality of life, driven both by the cancer and by treatment side effects. Let's assess a patient for optimal side effect management and supportive care.
