Experience and Education

Lisa received a Master's degree in writing from NYC's New School University in 2012 and has been working as a medical journalist for several years. In the last few years, much of her work has focused on the chronic illness and disability communities, with a special focus on the intersection between physical health and mental health, inclusivity, and accessibility.

As a medical journalist with ankylosing spondylitis, her passion for writing and reporting is informed by her own medical experiences. In 2022, Lisa was nominated and became a finalist for Health Union and WeGo Health's Social Health Awards for her research and awareness work as a chronic illness advocate.

Her writing can be found in The New York Times, HealthCentral, EndocrineWeb, Sleep Foundation, GoodRx, Twill Health, Health Union, Medical News Today, WebMD, and more. She is the author of three mind/body/spirit books and was previously the senior editor at Vitamin Shoppe.
